Act 4

Possible costumes & props for Act 4. :)

Act 4 Props

Act four is going really well for the writing part. I think we basically got all the important parts we needed in the script and now we are ready for filming. For this act, I suggest that we have a sleeping potion as a prop that Juliet drinks. Also, we should have instruments such as a violin for the musicians to play.

Act 2 Props

I suggested that Friar Lawrence should have a basket full of flowers and herbs. Also, we should also have a wedding ring for Juliet and Romeo.

Clothing:)

I think the costumes for Act 2, 3, 4, and 5 should be similar to the ones in Act 1. I think we all agreed that the Montagues should be wearing red and the Capulets should be wearing white. I think Friar Lawrence should be wearing a robe or something a Friar should wear. I think so far though, we've done a good job with the costumes and making sure we have the right colors for each actor. 

Act 1, Scene 4 & 5

Romeo, Benvolio, and Mercutio arrive at the party as maskers in scene 4. Romeo didn't feel like dancing because he was sad. Benvolio and Mercutio tried to motivate him. Mercutio starts talking about Queen Mab who controls dreams. Benvolio thought he was talking nonsense and they decide to go inside.

In scene 5, Capulet enters witth his cousin, Juliet, and others. He tells the women to dance with the maskers and he sits down with his cousin. Romeo sees Juliet and he can't believe how beautiful she is. Tybalt realizes that a Montague is one of the maskers. Capulet told him to leave him be and Tybalt leaves. Romeo takes Juliet's hand and kisses her. But then he found out she was a Capulet from the nurse so he leaves with Benvolio and Mercutio. Juliet finds out Romeo is a Montague from the nurse and she feels ashamed. 

I think the montague maskers should all be wearing hidden masks in these scenes and be dressed up in red. Also, the capulets should be dressed up in white. I think the props should just be normal formal props from a high school dance such as decorations, music, and a dance floor. 

Act 1, Scene 2 & 3

In scene 2, Paris and Capulet were talking about Juliet getting married at a young age and they told the servent to invite the guests to the party.  The servent can't read so he tried to find someone to read it for him, and that person was Romeo. Benvolio suggested that Romeo goes to the party also to find another girl instead of Rosaline. Romeo didn't like that idea but wanted to go anyways to see Rosaline.


Scene 3 involves Juliet, her mother, and the nurse. The nurse started talking about memories she shared with Juliet and during an earthquake Juliet cried but suddenly got calm and said "Yes." to the nurse's husband's question. Then, Lady Capulet suggested that Juliet should get married to Paris. Juliet said she would meet him at the party and try to like him to please them.


I picture all the Capulets wearing white and the Montagues wearing red (like Morgan suggested) and the nurse wearing a nurse outfit of course and the servant also wearing its side's colors.

Act 1, Scene 1

In the first scene, Sampson and Gregory are talking about having a draw and Sampson says he will make any men or women step aside for him and if they chose not to, he will cut off their heads. Then Abram and another Montague enter the room and Sampson gave them the finger. Then they fight and Benvolio tries to break them up but Tybalt disagrees so Benvolio and Tybalt end up fighting too. They are interrupted by Lord & Lady Capulet and Lord & Lady Montague. Capulet demands his sword and the prince enters and tells them to stop fighting.  


Since I'm costumes and props, I see them both wearing regular school clothes or school uniforms because this Romeo & Juliet is in present time. Also, I would picture them not with swords, but just their fists since it's present time.
